Independence Day. Passing of the Declaration of Independence . Our freedom to 'have certain inalienable rights'. I am proud to be an American, I still salute the flag hand on my heart, I still say 'one nation under God,' and I still get a lump in my throat when I hear the Star Spangled Banner.. My country. !!! and proud of it..

ReplyDeleteI had a quilted "flag" almost just like this one hanging in my quilt shop - I think I finally sold it to a customer. I wish I still had it!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous flag and I too still respect my home country enough to also put hand over heart, to say the pledge of allegiance, to mist up over the Star Spangled Banner. Can't say the pride is necessarily always there these days, though.
ReplyDeleteI know what your saying but it's something that's been with me all my life and right now our country is in trouble. But I have that hope it will be as strong as ever again. (even if I'm not here to see it. ) BJ
