Thank you to All

I want to thank everyone who wrote me to ask if I was alright  as the storm Isaac was approaching right for Tampa. . We were lucky to have missed it. But always when it misses you, it goes on to bring others misery. It's a two edged sword. As I write this my good friends in Biloxi are getting pounded.
Living in Fla. for over 40 years, I've been through 3 major hurricanes, and was on the fringe of the infamous Hurricane Andrew.  . They are awful, very scary, very destructive.
All the work preparing, tying down, taking things in,  and then if it does hit as it did in 2005, there are weeks of cleanup and repairs.
What I always find sad is that hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, are big news for a few days, then the victims are left with days, weeks, months and even years of rebuilding. Look at Haiti, still living in tents after almost 4 years.
Well off the soapbox, but thank you all for your concern, and thoughts.. I appreciate them so much... BJ

  1. That is one gorgeous sky, BJ! I hadn't realized you were in the path of Isaac. I haven't listened to the news enough, I suspect. I am so glad you are ok. I know what you mean about those left to pick up the pieces though.

  2. So glad you are okay. Yes, these events soon leave the top story of all the news and we forget all the people still struggling. Looks like Plaquemine parrish was hit very hard and they will be weeks or months cleaning up and dealing with insurance agents, etc. And hurricane season has just begun!

Glad you are safe and almost dry.

Oh, BJ, I didn't realize you were in Tampa...so glad you're okay, a little "after the fact", I know...♥...we are supposed to be getting rain from Isaac starting tonight or early tomorrow...we so desperately need the rain, but I hate that we have to get it from a storm that has caused destruction for others...:(
    Hugs,
