Today is is the 10th anniversary that my country was attacked . A lot of innocent people died on that day. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't WANT to forget. I choose to remember it .
I choose to honor all the people that came before we were here who literally walked across this country to establish their homes, raise their children, and fought everything in their way in order to be free ... My grandmother came here as a 13 year old girl with no one but her aunt. That takes courage.
Left her mother and siblings in Italy in early 1900. And I thank her for that...
Our troops have shed blood for this country to give us what we have today. People from all over the world still die trying to get to these shores. Why do you think that is so?
Why aren't they beating at the doors and dying to get into those countries that have attacked us? I think we all know that answer. You know where I stand, and I stand proud of my country, my flag , and proud of the people who give their lives for it every single day. God bless America and keep it safe ! BJ

Me too, Barbra! Proud to be an American, and very lucky! Even the newly wealthy in China would rather be here! We still have opportunities and we can still complain. The 2 very best things on earth!
ReplyDeleteBarbra Joan, you expressed the sentiments of so many of us very well. May God bless the families and friends of those who died on 9/11.
ReplyDeleteI sent you two e-mails - one yesterday and one today, so hope you got it. Also explained the delay.
Hugs,
Mary
Such humbling and heartfelt words, BJ. I'll bet your grandmother was a firecracker!
ReplyDeleteThis a beautiful post Barbra, My father came to this country in 1925 from Sweden and fought in WWII, to keep this country safe. I hadn't thought about that before. We will just keep fighting to be free! I'm so glad to be an American.
